"SPYDER" is an in depth examination of one of Porsche's most famous names - from the 550 Spyder to the WRS61. These cars earned much of the Porsche name in international and local competition, in North America, South America and Europe. "SPYDER" describes the genesis and development of the cars from the beginnings in Austria in 1948 and describes developmental and detail differences between the 550, 550A, RSK, RS60 RS61 and the WRS61 cars.

In addition the book discusses the FuhRman 4 cam engine, the gearboxes, chassis and body construction. It also includes a list of all Spyders ever built, by chassis number and provides detailed history up to the current locations for nearly 90% of the cars made.
